Godha - Hitting all the right notes

Image
Malayalam movies are something which every Malayalee can boast about to our friends from other states of the country, but we never had a proper sports movie, apart from the Abrid Shine-Nivin Pauly masterstroke 1983 all we had are some misses in the genre. Although we did try to take on different subjects like volleyball (Karikunam 6's) and football (Goal) nothing seemed to work out. So when I first saw the trailer of Godha all I could think of was a slapstick comedy riot as the directors (Basil Joseph) last outing Kunjiramayanam. Kunjiramayanam was an extremely fun movie but would I recommend it to a Non-Malayalee movie buff who takes cinema seriously? No. Besides that, Godha focused on wrestling, as a millennial malayalee who knows wrestling only through bollywood movies and the occasional hype that comes when India wins an olympic medal, I was quite skeptical about the movie. I had a lot of premonitions but Basil Josephs outstanding direction and Rakesh Manthodis brilliant

100 days of love - To make you believe in love again

Easily one of the best and cutest romcoms ever made in Malayalam. The amazing chemistry between Balan(Dulqer) and Sheela(Nithya) makes the movie a real treat to watch. Dulqer and Sheela individually did full justice to their roles. It is not just the hero and heroine who seems to have an amazing chemistry, the other cast also gels in perfectly. Balans close friend Ummar(Shekar) made the whole movie a way more lively one with his impeccable comic timing. In the first half when the movie seemed to be going a little dull it was Aju Varghese who came to the rescue as Romach, Balans colleague although a short role, he made the viewer’s get back into the movie again. Jacob(kora from ABCD) with his short cameo also added to the comedy factor with his “freak/yo-yo” cochin “dude”. Rahul Madhav as the classy villain/hero (depends on the perspective) has given us a very elegant performance. The other cast also did an amazing job from Balans ex-girlfriend to the foreigners in the last scene. T

The perfect crisp, the perfect light moments and finally when your tongue meets the stuffing its going to be fireworks in your mouth. Hands down one of the best dishes ever with enough spiciness and a little bit of sweetness to flirt with. Pazham Nirachatu Pazham pori (fried bananas) are there through out Kerala, but pazham nirachatu is a Malabar exclusive. Bananas and coconut two things we love, therefore we can all easily agree with the fact that this is one hell of a dis

5 matches a Manchester United fan should never miss

Image
Even though the title says "matches a Manchester United fan should never miss", these are five matches that were really good, although some were one sided, these are matches no football fanatic can afford to miss. This is also an attempt to remind all the plastic fans of Manchester United and those who think that United is done for good that we are going no where, we ruled Manchester and we will rule Manchester again. Manchester looks better in red. 5. Manchester United - 8 Arsenal - 2 Everyone thought this was gonna be like any other United Arsenal match, but SAF and the red devils had other plans. Rooneys hat trick and Young's formidable form was too much for the Gunners and thus one of our biggest victories ever, that too against one of our bittersweet rivals. Maybe thats why its still special for us and this always brings a smile on any United fans face.                                           4. United - 4 City - 3 An absolute thriller against our noi

Back to the Past - A journey through Music and Movies.

The year is 2014, it’s been a good year. Like every other year we had both good times and bad times there have been good music, books and movies but it’s never enough for us, we want something more and sometimes we feel like having something more, at least a little more. Something from the future or something from the past. There have been cult classics, songs that are stuck in your mind, books that have inspired you in such a way that your entire mind has been deformed and the thought process has changed drastically. Here i give you a list of the best things that you shouldn’t possibly miss and the best part is that these are still alive among us, at least within a small group and you shouldn’t be missing all these. Music Everyone loves music and 1960s music have been alive and up for a really long time now. The Beatles, rolling stones and Pink Floyd. Although personally not a big fan of rolling stones the Indian youth seem to be falling for them. Pink Floyd and The Bea

2 states, why it’s hard to work in real life ?

More than 3 million views in a week, the two states trailer has been viral on youtube. The book was a huge success too. The thought of marrying someone from another region itself is exciting. All though the idea is amusing and it seems fun, trust me it is very  far fetched , you don’t believe me, well personal experience.   As a person from the South I usually have India divided into three. 1. The south 2.The North 3. And The East, so where is The West? Well they speak Hindi and look like Northies, so it’s all the same. So back to our heading, why is it hit on paper(hopefully on screens too) and not in real life?  1. Language Love doesn't require language, but it isn't fun without speaking, all though English is there, you will feel more comfortable with a person who can reply in the same language as yours.   2. Hangout gangs   This is the biggest issue you are going to face my friend. Obviously both of you are gonna have separate sets of friends and if

Dhoom 3. Sigh !

Mindless, silly and a bad bad rip off. Prestige, fast and the furious franchise, on behalf of all the Indians, i apologize for this rip off. Aamir, you only do one movie a year. So why did you do this one ? It was very disappointing, from your entry to the end. And the scenes were you rode a motorcycle over the rope. Sigh ! I don’t have anything else to tell. And Jr. Bachchan, What are the walls made of better yet what is that auto made off ? It goes through walls with so much ease. Rohit Shetty, You got competition, at least u say its brainless comedy in the beginning these ppl gave us hopes for a very thrilling crime Story and they give us this action to go with it. *facepalm* Katrina is hot as always. That was her whole thing, to be hot, to be in two songs and a couple of other shots. That was the role of the leading lady. Malang was fantastic and that is one of the few good things in the movie. The cinematography was brilliant. The second half starts with love str
