Back to the Past - A journey through Music and Movies.

The year is 2014, it’s been a good year. Like every other year we had both good times and bad times there have been good music, books and movies but it’s never enough for us, we want something more and sometimes we feel like having something more, at least a little more. Something from the future or something from the past. There have been cult classics, songs that are stuck in your mind, books that have inspired you in such a way that your entire mind has been deformed and the thought process has changed drastically. Here i give you a list of the best things that you shouldn’t possibly miss and the best part is that these are still alive among us, at least within a small group and you shouldn’t be missing all these.

Music

Everyone loves music and 1960s music have been alive and up for a really long time now. The Beatles, rolling stones and Pink Floyd. Although personally not a big fan of rolling stones the Indian youth seem to be falling for them. Pink Floyd and The Beatles are also a major hit. What genre do they fall under? I don’t know, i hear people calling The Beatles rock and pop but they are something different altogether so is the case of pink Floyd, their soothing music can be called psychedelic, but they are different, no one is gonna recreate their kind of music and i’m pretty sure about that. Happy music and soothing music, yes 1960’s is one destination any music lover should end up if you get to time travel.

Their cult fans are the proof for the awesome music they made. Smiths and Oasis from the later years were able to recreate it to a certain extend but they couldn’t be as huge as the 1960’s music.

Here are 10 songs from these three bands you shouldn’t be missing.

The Beatles.

1. Hey Jude
2. While my guitar gently weeps
3. Let it be
4. Yellow submarine

Rolling Stones

5. Paint it, black
6. Satisfaction
7. Gimme shelter

Pink Floyd

8. Another brick in the wall
9. Wish you were here
10. Comfortably numb

P.S. : Don’t look into this list just go through all possible songs because they all have a unique tune and you will like them all.

Movies

Movies of the 1990’s, mind = blown from starting with The Goodfellas of 1990 to The matrix and The fight club that came just before the new century. 1990’s was a brilliant year for the movie viewers across the world. As a movie lover who wants to watch the best movies in the cinemas itself, i wish that someday i can time travel and watch Jurrasic Park, Pulp Fiction, Shawshank redemption and Schindler’s list in the theatre itself.
1990s hasn’t stayed in just one genre it kept on switching between everything from comedy to dramas to science fictions. If you are trying to watch the 1990s movies here is a list of 10 movies you shouldn’t be missing.

1. Goodfellas
2. Forest Gump
3. Schindler’s List
4. Shawshank Redemption
5. Silence Of The Lambs
6. Jurrasic Park
7. The Matrix
8. Pulp Fiction
9. The Lion King
10. Home Alone

Its not the movies alone, the directors and actors were all brilliant. It was undoubtedly the best era for movies. Filled with experiments in the way they told stories to graphics, 1990s were indeed amazing.

Martin Scorese, Steven Spielberg, Tarantino thank you for introducing me to some of the best movies ever.

It doesn’t mean that the other eras were bad, these years are the ones that stand out and fall under the things that we shouldn’t miss out, because after one Justin Beiber we would get another band(One Direction) just like him, music like that will always be recreated but another John Lennon or another “hey jude” will never be created.

Anyways let us hope for better movies and music.
